My short story “Park Larks” — set in the secret garden in Regent’s Park — appears in the latest issue of Bunnie, the glossy erotic magazine from Red Rabbit Books. This issue is available as a FREE e-magazine. It’s got the same great stories and gorgeous photography, including a wide variety of beautiful scenes capturing the theme of The Great Outdoors For those of you who came to the Bunnie reading at Waterstone’s Nottinghill back in June, this is the story I read the first half of that night (such a tease!).

My London Debut
I had my London debut at Waterstone’s Notting Hill on Saturday June 29th. I was part of the Red Rabbit Books reading. Here I am with organiser Mark Farley, who also read. Also reading were the fabulous Sofia Portland, Lucy Felthouse and Maxim Jakubowski, formerly the proprietor of Murder One Books on Charing Cross Road. It was a fun evening and a good crowd. I read my story “Park Larks” which will appear in the soon to be released Bunnie 3, The Great Outdoors. We had fun chatting in the pub afterward, too. Lucy and Sophia were relieved because they were nervous about the reading, but they were both wonderful and read terrific stories. Mine was a bit long, so I only read half, breaking off at a crucial point to leave the audience in suspense. With luck they’ll want to buy the issue to see what happens!
Words Aloud
I am so excited! My short story “Reunion” will be part of the first podcast by Red Rabbit Books, publishers of the swanky and stylish erotic magazine Bunnie. How wonderful — I’m working on another story for their “Great Outdoors” theme which is a lot of fun, too.
I find that themed issues offer good prompts for writing; while I have definite plans when it comes to longer pieces, short stories end up being more coincidental in their births. A chance mention or an unusual call for submissions can spark a completely unexpected idea. It’s all part of the magic of writing!
